Prof. Pradeep Raj R is a highly accomplished academic and leader in the field of engineering education with a distinguished background in Mechanical (Manufacturing) Engineering. He is a University Second Rank holder from Anna University, and a research thesis submitted which is focused on thermal spray coating for naval materials at Annamalai University. He is deeply committed to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship within academia.  He bridges the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical skills through collaborative course design and a focus on real world applications.  His dedication to lifelong learning ensures the continuous development of new approaches that empower both faculty and students to excel in the dynamic field of engineering.

He completed prestigious Management Development Program from IIM-Kozhikode and a Certified Faculty by NSTEDB, Dept. of Science & Technology, Govt. of India. He recognised as a Top performing Innovation Ambassador of MIC, Ministry of Education, Govt. of India and also a Mentor under the prestigious Mentor-Mentee program of MIC, Ministry of Education, Govt. of India. He is a sought-after speaker, having delivered over 500 sessions on innovation, entrepreneurship, startup development, design thinking, and creative problem solving.  He is a recipient of the TCS Young Innovator Award and the Best Teacher Award by the institution.

His strong administrative and coordination skills are evident in his experience.  He Coordinated and conducted over 700 programs in various engineering, technology, innovation, patents, and entrepreneurship domains. He Successfully mentored and developed 10 startups in the institution and also Founded two startups. He is a Life Member of the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE), Faculty Advisor of SAE India, and a Fellow Member of the Indian Thermal Spray Association (iTSA).  He has published 6 journals extensively in reputed international journals indexed in Scopus and SCIE and presented his research over 15 international conferences. He Filed a patent for a project titled Nirmohi which is an innovative wheel chair design for differently abled peoples. He Successfully completed 8 funded projects from different government agencies like KSCSTE, KSUM etc. He holds number of certifications including Personal Entrepreneurial Characteristics by Kerala Institute for Entrepreneurship Development (KIED), Industrial Automation by Rexroth Bosch, Industrial Cryogenics by DoTE, Govt. of Kerala, Rapid Manufacturing and 3D Printing by Dept. of Science & Technology and NIT, Trichy.

Prof.Pradeep Raj is now serving  as the principal Incharge of Mohandas College of Engineering & Technology.  Previous to this assignment he held the positions of  Dean- Innovation & Technology  and Head – Innovation Centre of MCET.
