Electronics and Communication Engineering is the branch of study that has revolutionized the life style of humanity and transformed the society into a technological sphere. Today is an era of semiconductor electronics and chip design for secured communication.
The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering started in 2002 with an intake of 60 students for B.Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering. It is one of the oldest departments in the institute. In 2012, a PG program (M.Tech.) in Applied Electronics and Instrumentation with an intake of 18 students was introduced.
Currently, the department offers:

Two B.Tech Degree programs:
One M.Tech Degree program:
Since its commencement, the primary objective of the department has been to impart quality education, training and research at undergraduate and post graduate levels in various areas of Electronics and Communication Engineering with broad emphasis on design aspects of electronic systems.
Our department is also offering B.Tech. in Electronics and Computer Engineering with an intake of 30 students, since 2023.
The department, with its facilities and experienced faculty members provide a conducing environment for developing the technical and learning skills of the students.
The department has a full-fledged library with large number of books and journals to cater the need of ECE students. Other facilities in the department include UG Seminar Hall, PG Seminar Hall etc. Our department offers add-on courses to ensure practical training, in its quality, quantum and modalities of organization in skill-oriented manner and aim at the development of marketable skills for entrepreneurship development and empowerment of the students. These job-oriented courses are designed to equip the students to face the emerging challenges in the job market. The department has a student association named SPECTRA that organizes expert talks and various other activities for upskilling the students. Industrial visits/Study tours are also organized. The students are encouraged and supported to present research papers in International Conferences. The department jointly organizes TECHSYNOD – The National Level Technical Conference every two years, which is a platform for the post-graduation students to present their research projects. All these activities will enable to students to be employable in diverse fields.
