Computer Society of India (CSI)

The department owns the Computer Society of India (CSI) student chapter with more than 150 students and teachers as members. The CSI MCET chapter conducts technical workshops and seminars with participation of students and teachers from other institutions at district and state level. It also encourages and supports the MCET students to participate in programmes like paper presentations, conferences and workshops conducted at State and National levels.

FOSS CELL@MCET (Free and Open Source Software MCET Chapter)

The MCET chapter of FOSS Cell is formed with Prof. Prathibha S Nair as the Faculty Co-ordinator and Mr. Jithin Mohan (S6 CSE) as the Student Co-ordinator with the supported by ICFOSS with the aim to provide promotional services of FOSS in our institution following the guidelines in carrying out the vision of ICFOSS, to encourage and promote the use of Free and Open Source Software and related areas such as Open Hardware amongst the students and teachers of this institution for every possible kind of use. The FOSS CELL@MCET shall carry this out through associating with ICFOSS and it’s programmes, as well as with other FOSS community, industry and research organizations, and taking up programmes including training and capacity building, student projects, lectures & seminars, conferences and exhibitions, by participating at the institutional level as well as inter-institutional, state, national and international levels. The student ambassadors will support this mission.
