The Parent – Teachers Association is formed with a view to maintain effective interaction between the college and parents. The PTA of the college is very active and is giving considerable assistance for the improvement of the college.

The PTA promotes extracurricular/ co-curricular activities like college day, sports day, department association activities, National Level Technical Symposium(Colloquium) & Cultural meets(Illuminati) etc. The journals in the central library, OHP & LCD projectors for various departments, the BSNL broadband high-speed internet connection in the college etc. are being maintained by the PTA. To help the students resolve personal issues and improve their academic performance a full time clinical psychologist is appointed for counseling. Various personality development events, Communicative English classes etc. are organized by PTA.

A general body meeting is held every year and executive committee meetings every alternate month. Very close interaction between the teachers and the parents are maintained. The progresses of their wards are informed to the parents on regular basis. As a part of the activities of PTA, scholarships are being issued to various categories of students. Merit cum means scholarships are issued to financially backward students as per the recommendations of the staff advisors. Merit scholarships are issued to outstanding students in each semester from the year 2005 onwards.

The PTA of MCET is headed by the Director, Dr. Ashalatha Thampuran, the President and Principal, Dr. S. Sheela the Vice President of PTA. The executive committee comprises of a Secretary, Treasurer, eight faculty members and seven parent members.

The vibrant Parent Teacher’s Association (PTA) of MCET has extended financial support for various academic and other beneficial programmes like illuminati, colloquium, college day, arts festival etc for MCET students. Major contributions were: Merit cum means scholarship to the meritorious students, Proficiency prizes for class first, second and 80% above GPA students and best incoming student award for s 1 s2, which has been distributed during the general body meeting every year. PTA has purchased a new car for emergency service and also sponsoring research projects for under graduate level.

During the Academic Year 2021 -2022, Merit cum means scholarship distribution conducted for S3, S5, S7 B. TECH, S3,S5 MCA and S3, S5 MBA students. Proficency prizes for S4 S6 S8 B.Tech, S4 MBA and S4 MCA.

Study Material Distribution:

MCET NSS UNIT 159 had contributed uniform to 40 pre-primary students and books and stationary to 150 students of Govt LPS Chullimanoor and Tribal LPS Thalathoothukavu as part of Prevesholsavam in association with MCET PTA.

17th PTA AGM was conducted on 16th November 2019. Director and Principal addressed the gathering. Annual report and accounts report was presented. Smt. Rani Mohandas, VNGP trust secretary presented the prizes for class toppers and other meritorious students who scored more than 8 GPA in the last academic year.
