  • 4th National conference & workshop- TECHSYNOD’17 on “Advances in Bioenergy & Biomaterials and Advances in Mechanical Engineering & Mechatronics” sponsored by ISTE MCET chapter, KSCSTE, CSIR, DRDO, ISRO, IIChE was conducted on 19 – 21 December 2017. 14 papers which comprises of 11 external and 3 internal were presented. Workshop on “DWSIM- Open source simulation” was handled by Dr. P. R. Naren, Sastra University.

  • “Bioethanol- its production and use status in India” by Dr. Ravikumar, Professor & Head, dept. of Biotechnology, Bannari Amman Institute of Technology, Tamilnadu
  • “Algal Biofuels: Status and perspectives for India” by Dr. V. Sivasubramanian, Director, Phycospectrum Environmental Research Centre, Chennai.
  • “Life of Biosimilars: Development, Manufacturing, Characterization and Comparison with Innovator product” by Dr. Sampath Srisailam, Head, Manufacturing Science and Technology, Syngene & Biocon, Bangalore.
  • “Bioenergy from Solid wastes” by Dr. Ajith Haridas, Head, Environmental technology division, CSIR-NIIST, Thiruvananthapuram.

Add on course for S6 BT&BCE students in COMPUTER AIDED DRUG DESIGN- 2021

Introduction: Molecular basis of diseases, concept of therapeutic targets, Drug discovery pipeline, structure based and ligand based approaches in drug design.

  • Molecular docking – concepts and mechanics of docking, introduction of molecular modelling, hands on with docking software. Case study with a selected target.
  • In silico ADME prediction. Introduction to Personalized medicine.
