Session 1 and 2 (9.00am-12.30pm)
The topic of the session was “MathScience-Backbone of Science and Technology”. The resource person of the session was Dr.B Premlet, Prof. & Head (Rtd), Department of Physics, TKM of Engineering, Kollam. He explained the basic concepts of Physics with real time examples and introduced Engineering into their mind.
Session 3 and 4 (1.30pm-3.30pm)
The topic of the session was “Introduction to Mathematics”. The resource person of the session was Dr.Madhukar Mallayya, HOD of Mathematics, Mohandas college of Engineering and Technology. He explained about the concepts of differentiation and integration in a simple manner. He explained about the significance of Mathematics in Engineering.
Session1 (8.45am-10.00am)
The topic of the session was “Autonomous Systems”. The resource person of the session was Mr.Barker Bhaskaran,Founder and CEO@Savtua Technologies, California, United States of America.He explained about the Autonomous Ships, Network Software For Cyber Physical Systems, Swarm Unmanned Control etc. He explained about “How to build a startup” and its requirements. He motivated students to learn new technology, understanding things fundamentally, learn by doing multidisciplinary projects. He motivated students and told them to love for whatever area of interest. He encouraged the students to do more than their degrees.
Session 2 (10.00 am-11.30am)
The official state-level inauguration of the BTech Student Induction Programme 2024 was done by Dr. R. Bindu, Hon’ble Minister for Higher Education and Social Justice, Government of Kerala. The Hon’ble Minister inaugurated the event in physical mode at CETAA hall, College of Engineering Trivandrum.

Session 3 (11.30am-12.30pm)
Prof.Vasanthi, NSS Programme Officer discussed about the college NSS Unit and its activities. She encouraged the students to incorporate social service to the society.
Session 4 (1.30pm-3.30pm)
There were two parallel sessions. One of the sessions was “Health and Wellness”. The resource person was Mr.Jinson of Physical Education Department, Mohandas college of Engineering and Technology. He discussed about the nutrition and diet, demonstrated simple exercises, significance of hydration, etc. He discussed about the different sports and games events (Basketball, football, volleyball, etc) and about the university grace marking system. He interacted with the students and identified their areas of interest in sports and games. He shared his experience as well as the higher semester students, which motivated the students to participate in sports and games and made them understand the significance of Health.
The other session was on Concepts of Programming. The resource person was
Dr. Jayaprakash, HOD, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Mohandas college of Engineering and Technology.

The topic of the session was Universal Human Values.The resource person was Mr.Anto Michael (Motivational speaker) ,Deputy secretary,Govt secretariat).He discussed about the human values, happiness, love and inspired the students to think about the positive aspects of life.
Session2 (11.00am-12.30pm)
Session was on Anti Narcotics (KTU) in online mode.
Inauguration by Sri M B Rajesh,Hon’ble Minister for Local self-Governments, Rural Development and Excise.
Keynote by Dr.Mohan Roy, Psychiartist, Govt.Medical College,Trivandrum . The session was live-streamed on the University’s official Facebook page

Say Yes to Life, No to Drugs
We realize that drug abuse is increasing in our country, especially among the youth and this is a matter of concern. We pledge that we will cooperate in stopping the drug abuse. We promise that we will not consume any harmful or illegal drugs in any way for any purpose.
We will create awareness about the ill effects of drug abuse by encouraging every person, especially the youth so that the youth of India can live drug-free and they can become creative and important members of the society.
Today we pledge that we will stay away from drugs and live a healthy life.

Mr.Brahma Nayakam Mahadevan , social activist and National NSS trainer delivered a motivational talk to the students which made a memorable day in their life.
Session 2 (11.00am-12.30 pm)
As part of the Student Induction Programme 2024, an online session on ” Kerala’s Startup Ecosystem: Opportunities, Government Initiatives, and Future Vision” September 12, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The session was inaugurated by Sri P. Rajeev
Hon’ble Minister for Law, Industries, and Coir Government of Kerala. Sri Anoop Ambika, CEO of Kerala Startup Mission,delivered the talk, which was live-streamed to all affiliated Colleges.

Dr.K Gopakumar , Principal, MCET detailed on the regulations,credit system, Minor and Honours courses,etc of the new KTU curriculum 2024.
(11 am -12 noon)
The University in association with K-DISC has organized an online session as part of the Student Induction Programme (SIP) to introduce students to the Young Innovators Programme 7.0. The session took place on13th September 2024, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 Noon.
