Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE)

On October 12, 2023, at 2:30 pm, the ISTE MCET chapter hosted a weekly colloquium in the CGPC hall. The event featured an expert talk by Dr. N Rajesh Prabha, Head of the Mechanical Engineering department, on the topic of “Wear Mechanism on Composite Materials.” This educational opportunity was open to all faculty members and attracted a positive response from final-year students in the Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics, and Civil Engineering departments. The session proved to be an enthusiastic and productive experience for the students who attended.

ISTE MCET chapter hosted a Weekly Colloquium on October 5th, 2023 at 2PM in the CGPC hall, featuring an expert talk by Dr. Rakesh S, HOD ECE dept.,on “Multiply Accumulate Units using Modified Adders”. This educational opportunity was open to all faculty members, and it attracted a positive response from final-year students of ECE, EEE, and CSE. The session proved to be an enthusiastic and productive experience for the attended students.

Faculty Induction Programme 2023

Mohandas College of Engineering and Technology in association with ISTE MCET Chapter conducted Faculty Induction Programme from 20/8/23 to 23/8/23. Inauguration of the programme is by Prof.Sudheer K P, Ex Official Principal Secretary S&T Department and Executive Vice President KSCSTE. Dr.Sheela S, Principal give the Inaugural Address and Dr. Ashalatha Thampuran, Director MCET presided over the function.

ISTE is a national, professional, non-profit making society registered under the Societies Registration Act of 1860. The major objective of the ISTE is to assist and contribute in the production and development of top quality professional engineers and technicians needed by the industries and other organizations. We have about 100 staff members in ISTE Staff Chapter and 1500 members in Students’ Chapter. The ISTE staff chapter conducts staff training programs once in every 6 months. Thursday Colloquium – Extramural lectures are arranged on every Thursday on various current topics by eminent personalities for the faculty and final year students.

ISTE MCET Chapter awarded the BEST CHAPTER KERALA SECTION in 2014 at the 44th Annual State Convention in CET, Trivandrum. MCET hosted ISTE State Faculty Annual Convention Programme in October 2015. ISTE MCET Chapter conducted three phases of AICTE – ISTE Induction Refresher Programme on Art of Effective Teaching and Learning on March, April and May 2021.
